Riding the St. John Valley
About 38 miles of club-maintained trail around Fort Kent, open to ATVs, side-by-sides and dirt bikes. All of it crosses private land that owners let us use. Please keep it that way.
Keep trails open
Ride right
- Stay on marked trail. Every mile crosses land a neighbor lets us use.
- Carry a current Maine ATV registration. Out-of-state riders need a nonresident registration.
- Respect mud-season and weather closures. Riding a soft trail can cost us the trail.
- Slow down near homes, camps and road crossings.
- Pack out what you pack in.
- See a downed tree or washout? Let us know by email or on Facebook.
Mile 0 of Route 1
Fort Kent is where US Route 1 starts. Grab a photo at the marker, then fuel up in town before you head out.
Acadian country
The St. John Valley has deep Acadian roots. Plan a stop for ployes and poutine on the ride home.
